People Are Debating After Reclining Airline Passenger Destroys Laptop

Flying is a very convenient way to travel but it is not without its problems. Most people consider the high cost or perhaps being stuck in a small area with many people, but one man found it inconvenient because he lost his laptop.

The man was absolutely livid after seeing his laptop and livelihood destroyed by a seat back on a flight. The person in front of him reclined the seat, and it crushed the monitor of the laptop, cracking and breaking it.

When the man called the flight attendant over to tell her what had happened, he was told that the person in front of him needed to be able to recline their seats.

This may have happened a few years ago, but the issue of the reclining seat has resurfaced online. It has to do with the controversy of being the person behind someone who wants to get a little more room, so they recline their seat into you.

This is an interesting argument because there are some that are considering asking for a ban on reclining seats altogether.

As far as Cassidy, the owner of the laptop was concerned, he wrote to Delta. He said:

“@Delta small note for the suggestion box, maybe have a little warning sign or someway to prevent my laptop from being destroyed when the person in front of me reclines their seat.”

He went back on Twitter again to criticize the flight attendant, saying: “I really appreciate that your flight attendant came over to tell me that the passenger in front of me ‘needs to be able to recline’ and then asked him ‘if he was okay?’ as if your seat hadn’t just ruined my livelihood.”

After the post went viral, Cassidy came back to provide an update. He said: “@Delta got scared when @BarstoolBigCat threatened [them]. Someone from corporate called me, but when I called back I couldn’t get through to anyone. Still no warning on the seat backs. Sad.”

Essentially, they offered him the equivalent of a $75 voucher.
